Buna-N Rectangular Sheet
6" x .03" thick
Buna-N sheet stock

Possible uses:

  1. Friction surfaces
  2. Belt systems (round)

Tips:

To join two pieces together use the Loctite 416 or other cyranoacrylate adhesive. The two surfaces to be joined should be smooth, free of any oils, dirt, grime, etc. and should mate easily. (Do not cut with scissors or individually cut ends.) Use a sharp razor blade or X-acto knife and cut both ends at the same time.

When using a flat belt or round belt system you should tension the system between 5-10%, so calculate the total length the belt needs to be unstretched and make it the appropriate percentage shorter. Higher tension systems have less slip and more friction than a low-tension system.

Tools:

To modify, you can use the following tools: X-acto knife, Razor blade

You should not use: Drill, Shear, Bandsaw, Notcher, Punch, or any other power tool.

Examples:

Strips of Buna-N sheet were used to here to make a mechanism to pick up hockey balls.
The Buna-N sheet was cut and glued to make the treads for this machine.
